Students passing HSC Examination of Board of Secondary Education. Orissa or any other equivalent examination are eligible to apply for admission into 1st Year of +2 Arts / +2 Science Courses and those passing +2 Stream are eligible to apply for admission into +3 1st Year Degree Course in Arts / Science.
How to Apply
Admission forms along with prospectus for 1st year classes +2 and +3 streams can be available in person from the college office on any working day between 10 AM to 2 PM on payment of Rs. 100/- or by Regd. Post on Payment of Rs. 175/- on the shape of Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Principal, Rimuls College, Rimuli with a written request for the admission form. Admission forms completed in all respect should reach the principal. Within 15 days from the date of publication of result of the qualifying examination (excluding the date of publication) or within the last date as prescribed by the Govt. of Orissa. candidates are required to submit separate applications for separate streams.
Documents to be Attached with the application Form:
1. Attested copy of S.L.C./C.L.C./T.C. 2. Attested copy of the Mark Sheet of the Qualifying examination. 3. Attested copy of the conduct certificate of the Head of the institution last attended. 4. Attested copy of the caste certificate (in case of SC/ST applicants). 5. Attested copy of requisite certificate in support of claiming weightage. 6. Original money receipt in support of purchase of application form. 7. Attested copy of HSC certificate (For +3 applicants only) 8. One copy of the recent passport size photograph duly attested 9. Index and intimation Card with Rs. 6.00 postage stamp affixed on it.
Submission of Application Forms
The candidate should submit the application forms duly filled in the college office on or before the prescribed last date of submission. The application may also be sent by registered post only so as to reach the principal on or before the last date. The College shall not be responsible for any postal delay / missing. Application from incomplete in any respect is liable to be rejected.
Selection Procedure
Selection for admission is made strictly on the basic of merit. Applicants belonging to any category of reservation and weightage shall be given as per Govt. rules. Applicants are required to mention their category in the right hand top of the application form in bold capital letters Claim of reservation and weightage shall not be entertained if the application is not supported by xerox copy of the relevant Certificate. The decision of the admission committee in this matter will be final and binding upon the applicants.
Calculation of Marks
(a) The merit will be prepared on the basis of the total marks secured in the HSC examination / CHSE examination excluding the marks of extra optional, if any. (b) The merit list for students passing from CBSE / ICSE and other boards shall be prepared only after due conversion ignoring the extra optional subjects, if any. (c) In case of compartmental candidates, the average of two marks in which the candidate has failed shall be taken into consideration to determine the aggregate.
Principle of Reservation
1. 1% of the seats for children of ex-service men provided they submit certificate issued by the Rajya Sainik Board. 2. 8% of the seats for SC Candidates. 3. 12% of the seats for ST Candidates. 4. 3% of the seats for OPH candidates having certificates issued by concerned CDMO. 5. 2% of the seats for Burma Repatriates. 6. 4% of the seats for children of Govt. servants and defence personnel on transfer if the said transfer is effected after the last date of submission of application forms. The reserved seats of SC and ST applicants cannot be interchanged. Any reserve seat remaining vacant in any category may be filled up on the basis of general merit list subject to the approval of the admission committee.
Principle of Weightage
The marks for weightae shall be given and to be added to the aggregate as per the following : (a) 2% for NCC (A) Certificate (b) 3% for NCC (B) Certificate (c) 5% for NCC (C) Certificate (d) 5% for participating in all India NCC Camp. (e) 5% for Governor's Guide and Scout Certificate. (f) 10% for president's Guide and Scout Certificate subject to 10% of the total seats. (g) NCC cadets / NCC volunteers / Sports persons representing the country at the International level shall be given direct admission. (h) 5% of the marks for representing the University / CHSE / School / NCC / NSS at the national level. (i) 5% of the marks for the women candidates.
Intimation Regarding Selection :
Candidates selected for admission will be intimated individually by ordinary post regarding the date of admission. Names of selected candidates will also be notified on the Notice Board of the college. A selected candidate who fails to get admitted on the specified date as intimated, will forefeit his / her claim for admission.
Documents to be produced at the time of admission :
Selected candidates shall have to produce the following documents at the time of admission : (a) Original School / College leaving certificate / Transfor Certificate. (b) Mark sheet (c) Conduct certificate. (d) Three copies of recent passport size photograph duly attested. (e) Caste certificate in case of SC / ST / OBC / SEBC students. (f) Handicapped certificate in original
Allotment of Subjects :
Allotment of subjects will be made as per availability and merit of the candidate. The candidate applying for a specific group of subjects can not be assured of being allowed that group of subjects. The principal reserves the right to allow or disallow a particular group of subjects to a student.
Selection of Honours :
Students seeking Honours subjects should clearly mention their order of preference for the same. Selection of Hons. Subjects will be done after the admission is over through an Entrance Test and Counselling on a specified date notified for the purpose. Names of the selected candidates will be notified on the Notice Board of the College. A selected candidate who fails to get admitted into the Honours course on the specified date as notified, will forefeit his / her claim for admission into Honours.
Change of Subject :
A candidate who has been admitted into the college with particular subject (s) orzcombination of subjects into the first yar may be allowed change of subject (s) or combination of subjects by the principal within thirty days after the last date of admission into first year course.
Registration
Every student of Higher Secondary course or +3 Degree Class is ipsofacto a registered student of the CHSE(O) / North-Orissa University as the case may be. On first admission into HS / Degree classes a student pays a prescribed free for registration. The registration is essential for admission to the examination of the council / University. The Registeration card is an important document and should be preserved by each student with utmost care.
Duration of studentship :
The duration of the +2 HS and +3 Degree courses is 02 and 03 academic years respectively.
Commencement of Classes:
The date of commencement of +2 IInd year and +3 IInd / IIIrd year classes will be notified on the reopening day of the college. The date of commencement of +2 / +3 1st year classes will be intimated on the day of admission.
Important Note
(a) Admission to the college can not be claimed as a matter of right and may be refused by the principal without disclosing the reason to the candidates. (b) The admission to the college is purely provisional and may be cancelled in case irregularity is detected at any stage. (c) In case, if forged documents are detected, the principal reserves the right to forward full particulars of such candidates with their records to the State Crime Branch, Orissa for scrutiny. (d) Conduct of the candidate shall be an important factor in deciding his / her prayer for admission to the college. (e) The decision of the Admission committee and principal will be final and binding on the candidates in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application for admission, allotment of subject, penalty for false information / submission of forgery documents, etc. (f) Correspondence regarding admission should be made to the principal by designation and not by name.
New Admission Procedure for +2 Classes (e - Admission)
The Government of Odisha in Higher Education Deptt has decided to introduce e-Admission into +2 Classes of all Junior College / Higher Secondary Schools of the State from the academic session 2011 - 2012. In e-Admission process, there is one common application form (CAF) to be down / oaded for admission into any stream of +2 classes of Junior Colleges / Higher Secondary Schools of Odisha and there is one prospectus containing basic information. Selection is made on the basis of marks secured in the last qualifying examination giving weightage and reservation if eligible as per Govt. rules.
